Since I set up as a stills photographer in 2016 I have held two successful exhibitions. The first, appropriately for my previous career as a cinematographer, was in November at The Jam Jar Cinema in Whitley Bay (poss link here). At the cinema, Dan Elliott hung the photographs and he and his team hosted the Preview event and continuing exhibition for three weeks. The exhibition was supported by the CTBF, the UK charity for cinema, television and film, which has provided me with a range of help over the past year (poss link here).

Fifteen of my images were printed, mounted and framed in a limited edition series by Digitalab . Those photographs can be seen in the ‘Coastal’ section of the website. I was pleased and rather surprised that they sold very well and this gave me the impetus to mount another exhibition within a few months.

For this and the next exhibition I was helped by three friends. We met to choose images and they contributed a great deal to the success of both events.

I have chronicled the second exhibition which was held over two weeks in May 2017 at The Old Low Light Heritage Centre in North Shields (also on the North East coast).

The twenty three images featured were also ‘coastal’ and this time there was an opportunity to buy any of them in one of four sizes, either framed in a limited edition or mounted and signed. Also, during the run, I was interviewed in front of an audience and spoke about my working life and my approach to photography.
